marche d’hiver 2012, a french holiday market for kids.

Lycée Français de la Nouvelle-Orléans is holding its 2nd annual Marché D’Hiver (Winter Market). Done in the French holiday tradition, it features a family friendly atmosphere of arts, crafts, food and music. The market will be held on Saturday, December 8th from 10am to 6pm, and is held at the school’s preschool campus at 5401 S. Claiborne Ave.

This year’s food and beverages will be supplied by Taceaux Loceaux, Château du Lac, Cochon, Nacho Mama’s, and Velvet Coffee.

Crafts for kids to participate in include picture frames, holiday pins, spin art, and more. There will be face-painting, a bounce house, a French children’s book sale, and pre-made crafts by the Lycee students. Other craft vendors will be selling jewelry, art, knits, ornaments, New Orleans t-shirts, photo albums, ceramics, and hair accessories. The bake sale will include dozens of delicious treats, and Lycee’s school choir will be performing, as well as other French language holiday entertainment throughout the day.

The Marche D’Hiver is a fundraiser for La Liaison, the school’s Parent-Teacher Organization.
