If traveling the world with kids is all but a pipe dream and/or the mere thought of getting on a plane with them gives you heart palpitations, why not bring the world to them?
Little Passports, a San Francisco-based company founded by two moms, is a fun (and affordable!) way for kids to learn about other countries and the 50 states. Every month kids receive a special package from characters Sam and Sofia who travel the world on their magic scooter. Each package includes hands on activities that educate your child about two US states or one of the countries that Sam and Sofia visit.
The world edition (recommended for 5-10 year olds) comes with a letter from Sam and Sofia, a mini suitcase, stickers, world map, passport, souvenir and activities/recipes. The USA edition (recommended for 7-12 year olds) comes with a letter from Sam and Sofia, a USA map, scratch book, camera and field guide and activities/recipes based on the two states that Sam and Sofia visit that month – the first month being New York and Texas. Yee-haw! I don’t know about you, but my six year old absolutely loves getting mail. It makes her feel so grown up.
There are different subscription options but the one I like is $11.95/month — totally worth the joy it will surely bring. Here’s to yet another great mom-innovation!
