My six year old daughter, Anson, and I take our first solo road trip this weekend. I’m really looking forward to it. I find that the more time I spend with her, I realize just how much I really like her. She is so much cooler than I am. She’s been packed for hours already. I have no idea what’s in here:
With the hustle and bustle of everyday survival, I don’t always get the chance for one-on-one time with any of my three girls. So much of the day is spent passing by each other. I shuffle them from one point to the next, directing their every move, barking orders, moving things along so that I can finally have a moment to myself, free from the looming stopwatch. But I am very much looking forward to the open road and letting go of rules and routines. I am looking forward to just the two of us. I’m looking forward to just Anson.
We are Houston-bound, my old stomping grounds. We’re going to the Rodeo and I don’t have any cowboy boots… story of my life.
Have a wonderful weekend. Here are a few things I thought you might find interesting:
For the little fashionista.
Reach out and touch… a truck.
Celebrate one of our city’s most important cultural traditions.
This is what happens when you get drunk with a price gun.
Kickstart Little Red Riding Hood.
Finally! The ultimate face exfoliator.
Calculate your carbon footprint.
Get organized. She’s kooky but she’s good for your soul.
Bullies called him porkchop.
A kooky update of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Paternity Leave around the world.
What are you doing this weekend?
