Not only are hot air balloons the oldest form of human-carrying flight technology, but they’re dreamy and wondrous, especially when they light up the night sky.
This weekend marks the 2013 Louisiana Hot Air Balloon Championship in Gonzales. I have heard this event is magnificent, and this year there will be entertainment, parachutes, a children’s art village, food and good old fashion country fun. And if you’re not afraid of heights, you can even take a tethered hot air balloon ride!
There will be plenty of space to spread out your picnic blanket, prop up your fest chairs and enjoy the day. Or just go for the evening to see the Hot Air Balloon Glow.
Tickets are $2 each and balloon rides are $20.
Which Balloon will you be routing for? Is your hometown represented?
